Subject: Dead Rising 2 Review Sat Feb 05, 2011 10:52 pm
Found this review and it fits my sentiments exactly:
On my desk, I have the following: World War Z, the book about the after effects of the zombie apocalypse, The Zombie Survival Guide, a figurine of the zombie from Plants VS Zombies and even a Zombie translator. Yes, it’s safe to say that I’m a fan of zombie culture and lore. And yes, it’s safe to say that I loved the original Dead Rising. Sure, it had its issues — like a frustrating save system and a few control issues, but damn it was fun to run around a mall using whatever you can find against a never ending horde of zombies.....
This game is fun as hell. Who doesn't like spending countless hours destroying a neverending supply of Romero zombies? Nobody I'd like to meet. While trying to achieve a global ranking in the top 1000 (and succeeding), I spent hours and hours electrocuting and blowing up zombies and it never got old.
My DR2 montage:
One thing I didn't like in my pursuit of gaming greatness was the obvious hackers/glitchers/whatevers that were abusing the rankings. After many a long hour racking up points efficiently, I was sitting at rank 998 with just over 100,000 points. I started a mere 6 days after the game's release so I wasn't that far behind. The top 10 players had billions, not millions, but billions of points. No freakin way that was legit.
Either way, there is alot to do in this game aside from simply slashing your way to bliss. You can gamble in many different ways in many different casinos. You can search for all the different outfits and all the different combo weapons. You can play all kinds of minigames in realtime. Good stuff man.
